I guess for those few companies that still do that and back in the old days no one really paid attention to fuel management. It wasn’t that important. Today fuel management better be part of the picture or companies are just not getting the fuel savings that they should be.
Use neutral colored card stock and cut the card stock into different shapes. Make circles, squares, candy canes and triangles to represent a Christmas Tree. Stamp the cards using holiday stamps and ink. If you do not have holiday stamps, you can make your own with potatoes or apples. If you do not have stamping ink, you can use any cheap watercolor paints, beet juice, or even tea or coffee to color the paper.
I know you sideline watchers give the old Eeyore. You think, “What can I do with my truck cards and fleet cards to reduce fueling cost? My mobile fueling price is good. We have been using the same fuel companies for years they take care of us. I think I save.” Well, to all that I say, sure, sure, sure — get your head out of the Arab sand!
Look for an application – The Internet is filled with fuel card applications. Do you want to fill up at a particular gas station that you love, or will you fill up anywhere? If you’re loyal to a gas card company, I would recommend that you head to their website, to see what they have to offer.
Block heaters are not designed to warm an engine. They are designed to maintain the heat already generated in the engine. Thus it is crucial that the truck be plugged in while the engine is still warm. If your fleet companies truck have them, use them. This will make starting fuel saving by being able to start the truck easier.
Throughout the holiday season many of us receive a great number of buy truck cards. Re-using last year’s cards as this year’s decorations is a great way to save money. You can use your old cards as a gift name tags, place settings or glue your old cards together to create small box’s; line the boxes with wax paper and use them to hold baked goods that you want to give as gifts.
